How to print a Document,Picture or another Files

How to print a document, Picture, or another file

Each file and document, as well as the programs used to open them, are different. Therefore, we are only able to give a basic overview of the steps in printing. These steps are a general guideline and may not apply to the document or file that you are trying to print. That being said, many programs have adopted a standard method or printing.

Steps on printing a document, picture, or another file

Tip :-

Before trying any of steps below, consider using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+P on a PC or Cmd+P on an Apple Computer.

1. Open the document or file you want to print.

2. Near the top of the program window, look for a print icon that should resemble any of the below icons. As seen in the picture below, each of the icons resembles a printer with a piece of paper.

--OR--

1. Open the document or file you want to print.

2. In the top portion of the program window or browser you're using, open the file menu by clicking File and then Print from the drop-down menu.

Once either of the above options is done, a print properties window appears and allows you to specify additional printing options (e.g., number of copies ). Once you've selected the options, click OK or PRINT to start the printing process.

Printing Selected Text or Picture From an Internet Web Page

For printer-friendly pages like Computer Hope, when you print a page, all navigation menus and other non-important sections are automatically removed. If you come across a web page that's not printer-friendly or if you only want to print a section of a page or picture, follow the steps below.
Tip :- To print Only sections of text or images, it may be easier to coy the text or pictures, and paste it into a document. Once all information is gathered into a single document, you can print it out.

Print a Selection of Text

All Browsers support the ability to print selected text. Highlight the text you want to print on the page and press Ctrl+P on a PC or Cmd+P on an Apple Computer to open the Print options. In the print options Window, select "selection only" or "selection" from the available options.

Note :- You may need to click More settings or Advanced options before seeing the selection options.

Print Only a Picture From a Web Page

To only print a picture contained on a web page, we recommend opening the picture by itself. To do this, right-click the image and select "open image in a new tab" or "open image". Once the image is displayed  by itself, Press Ctrl+P on a PC or Cmd+P on an Apple computer to start the print process. You can try these steps now on the image below.

When I Print, it's Saving to a file and not Printing

A computer is capable of having multiple printers installed on a computer. some Printers can act as a save to file or PDF function, which saves anything printed to a file instead of a printer. If you've installed any program with these capabilities, your default printer may have been changed. If you want to print, make sure you are selecting the correct printer before starting to print. You can also change the default printer so that the correct printer is selected each time you print.

I cannot print because other print jobs are waiting to print

If the printer is not turned on, online, or ready, all print jobs are sent to a print queue and wait until the printer is ready. Once the printer is ready, all available jobs should resume. If the jobs do not resume, either the printer is not ready, or there is another problem. You can test for a  Problem by either restarting the print job canceling all other print jobs and then trying again.

Note :- If you are trying to print to a network printer, you cannot print unless the printer is online. If the printer is turned off, not connected to the network, or there is another network related issue, the printer is shown as offline.

If you are still unable to print

Some programs (often only older ones) may also use the keyboard's Print screen or print screen key to print. If your Program does not work with the previous steps, try pressing this key to print the document or file.
Finally, if you're able to locate the print option, but it's grayed out, or you receive an error, it's likely you have problems with the printer or its drivers.

Note :- In some rare situations, a program may not have a print option. If so, you try copying and pasting the information you want to print into a document in another program, and print it that way. For help with copying and pasting.

How to print a Picture or attachment sent in e-mail

If you receive a photo in an e-mail and you'd like to print it out, these tips help you get the best results possible.

Printing a Picture sent in e-mail

To Print a photo that you've received in an e-mail, follow these steps.

1. Open the picture you want to print in an image viewer or editor program.

2. Once the image is open, print the image by clicking File and Print or clicking the Print button in the image you're viewing the image. If you cannot find the print option, try pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+P or Cmd+P.

If the program you are using to view images does not support either of the above options, try an alternative image editor.

Printing Multiple small Pictures

In Some situations, you may receive a e-mail with multiple pictures. If these pictures are small, you can also print the images all at once by following the steps below.

1. Open a word Processor such as Microsoft word, Open Office Writer, or another program that supports the ability to ass a picture.

2. Open the image and copy the image into the clipboard. Often right clicking with your mouse on the image and selecting Copy is the easiest method of doing this. you may also be able to select the image and press Ctrl+C on the Keyboard to copy the image.

3. Switch back to the word Processor and Paste the image into the document. To do this, right-click your mouse on the image and select Paste, or click Edit in the program's top menu bar and select Paste usually. You may also be able to press Ctrl+V on the Keyboard to paste the image.

4. Repeat the above steps for each of the images you want to print. Also, you can resize the images in the word processor, but keep in mind that this can distort the image.

5. Once all pictures are added to the word processing document and adjusted, print the document.

Print an attached PDF, Word, or Excel document

If you have anther type of attachment you want to print, it must be opened in the program that supports that file type. For example, a PDF file can be opened in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, a .DOC or word file would open in Microsoft Word, and a .XLS or Excel file would open it Microsoft Excel. Once the file is opened in a program, print the file from within that program.

If you're unable to open an attachment, it's likely that its file extension cannot be associated with any program currently installed on the computer. For example, if you don't have Microsoft Word installed on the computer and a .DOC file is sent to you, the file can't be opened. To open this type of file, you must purchase and install Microsoft Word or install one of the free Word alternatives.

Other file types can be identified by looking at the file extensions. Visit the link below to see a listing of all file extensions and Programs that support those files.
