Computer Fan

What is Fan?

A Fan is a hardware device that keeps the overall computer or a computer device cool by circulating air to or from the computer or component. The picture is an example of a fan on a heat sink.

Types of Fans Found in a Computer?

1. Case fan-
2. CPU Fan :- n located on top of a computer processor. It helps pull and blow hot air off the processor, helping keep it cooler.
3. Power Supply Fan :-
4. Video card fan :-

How to Install a Fan?

Case Fan

Nearly all case fans are attached to the front, back, or side of a computer case using four screws, snap-in brackets, or both. If the case fan is being installed on the back or side of the computer case, most often, you use four screws to secure the fan in place. Case fans installed in the front of a computer case may be attached using snap-in brackets or screws, depending on the type of computer case. If the case fan is new, it should come with the screws needed for installation.

CPU Fan

A CPU is the main microchip in a computer, while a CPU is the dedicated fans that helps keep the processor cool. Processors generate heat from internal electrical energy. The more demand placed on a CPU, the header it works, and the warmer it gets. If the CPU gets too warm it can make errors and eventually 'melt' becoming completely inoperable. A CPU fan works in conjunction with a heat sink to prevent this.

A Heat sink is a metallic device that sits directly on the CPU, drawing heat away from the chip into its cooler, aluminium, fan-like structure. The CPU fans attaches to the heat sink, pulling air through the fins. By dissipating heat drawn into the heat sink, the fan indirectly cools the processor.

Power Supply Fan

A Power supply comes with a fan built into the unit, so there is no need to install a fan inside a power supply. If the fan in the power supply unit stops working, you can try cleaning it out using compressed air to see if that resolves the issue. Otherwise, you need to replace the entire power supply unit.

Video Card Fan

Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 Twin Fan 6 GB Review - Introduction
Higher-end video cards come with a fan built into the unit, so there is no need to install a fan on or inside a video card. If the fan in the video card stops working, you can try cleaning it out using compressed air to see if that resolves the issue. Otherwise, you need to replace the video card to prevent it from overheating.

What if a Computer has no fans or the stop working?

  1. Check the connection of CPU Fan to the motherboard.

When the Bios reports CPU not working, it is necessary to open the computer case to check if the CPU fan is connected to motherboard properly and well. You only need to plug the CPU fan correctly to the power plug to fix this problem.

   2. Reinstall the CPU Fan on the Motherboard of Computer.

If your CPU fan is not install well on your motherboard. Your CPU will also stop working normally, you just need to open computer case and install the CPU fan again to make it be installed perfectly on the computer's motherboard.

  3. Clean the Dusts in the CPU Fan.

You can oil the fan bearing to make it work normally. To clean CPU fan, you need to turn off the computer and open the case. Then, you can use a small brush to wipe dust or dirty things on the fan. After wiping dust or dirty on the fan, you can use some oil to lubricate the fan bearing. Please be careful in case of spraying other components of computer.

  4. Refresh Your CPU Bearing

If the CPU fan has been used for a long time, it will stop working, because the bearing needs machine oil to make it work smoothly. Then you can add some machine oil on it to make it alive.

You can uncover the top of the CPU fan. drop one or two little drop machine oil to the axis the CPU fan, that will make your fan work better.

  5. Replace a New CPU Fan

When you realize that the CPU fan is going to be damaged, you had better replace it with a good one before it stops working completely to prevent your computer from booting.
